On November 30th, 2013 the traditional Smilyan Kidney Beans Fest took place in the village. 51 creative pieces run in the contest for best applied work made of Smilyan kidney beans. Rhodopa Milk Dairy provided the awards for winners in this contest= Guests to the Festival tasted a variety of traditional and contemporary meals prepared by the hosts from Smilyan village.
